DARE officers from throughout the state are training in Central Louisiana today through tomorrow. These officers are the first line of defense against drugs around schools. They share stories about students who even turn in their family members who are dealing drugs out of fear for other family members.
Rapides Parish Sheriff William Earl Hilton says DARE is an important part of the efforts against drugs.
Hilton was the keynote speaker for the conference.
