Southern University System campuses and offices closed for inclement weather to reopen Thursday, registration and postponements announced

Southern University System offices, Southern University Baton Rouge (SUBR), Southern University Law Center (SULC), and the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SU Ag Center) will resume normal operations at 8 a.m., Thursday, August 18.

The Southern University Laboratory School will remain closed until Monday, August 22.

SULC classes will begin Thursday, August 18.

All fall semester classes at SUBR will begin Monday, August, 22. Registration will held Friday, August 19, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday, August 20, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

All SU employees should contact their respective supervisors to report their status.

Faculty, staff, and students should exercise caution traveling, and should check road conditions and road closures on local media.

The postponed SUBR Freshmen Convocation will be held Sunday, August 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the University Event Center.

Southern University Fall Fan Fest, scheduled for August 20 in the F.G. Clark Activity Center, has been postponed until a later date to be announced.
