Simmesport Man Arrested on Drug Charges

May 20, 2013 – According to Sheriff Doug Anderson, deputies have arrested Demond Montel Johnson, age 20 of Simmesport, La. with the possession of approximately 4.0 lbs. of suspected marijuana. C.I.U. / Narcotics Section investigators searched Johnson’s 506 Laurel St. home late Friday afternoon after conducting an investigation of alleged drug trafficking in the area.  Sheriff Anderson said that the seized 4 lbs. of suspected marijuana has an approximate street value of $4500.00.

Johnson was booked into the Avoyelles Sheriff’s Office DC #1 charged with 1 count of Possession of Schedule I CDS (marijuana) with Intent to Distribute. No bond has been set.
