Shuteye Road Bridge over Miller Creek
Off-system Highway Bridge Program
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that, weather permitting, construction work will begin on the Shuteye Road Bridge Replacement Project on Friday, August 30, 2013 and will continue for approximately (4) four months. This bridge replacement project is located on Shuteye Road over Miller Creek which is approximately 0.3 miles south of the intersection of Mount Olive Road. This 0.06 mile long bridge replacement project will receive clearing and grubbing, grading, class II base course, superpave asphaltic concrete overlay, and a three span concrete slab span bridge.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Guinn Services, LLC in the amount of $389,277.20.
The contractor will construct a low profile runaround to divert traffic around the construction work zone. The low profile runaround will be unpaved for the duration of the project. The roadway will be open to traffic at all times with no restrictions for regular traffic and a 12 foot wide width restriction for oversize vehicles.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
