Press Release (original) – On January 14th, 2015, Deputies responded to St. Francis Cabrini Emergency Room in reference to a victim of a shooting. Upon their arrival, the victim was extremely intoxicated and couldn’t provide deputies with his name, where the shooting took place or any other information about what happened.
RPSO Detectives responded to conduct their investigation and recognized the victim from prior interaction as L.C. Carrington. Detectives went to the last known address Carrington was living and upon arrival, they observed blood on the sidewalk leading to the residence and blood on the porch of the residence. Detectives secured the residence and obtained a search warrant to continue the investigation into the shooting, fearing there may be more victims.
While searching the residence for any other victims and any evidence of the shooting, detectives observed items that they recognized as items taken in several recent burglaries in the Wardville area. Detectives then secured another search warrant in reference to the stolen items and recovered items from three different burglaries they were currently investigating. While at the residence, the other suspects that lived at the residence drove by. Detectives were notified by a neighbor and after a short pursuit, detectives located and arrested the two suspects. Those suspects were identified as 55-year-old Rockey Dale Carrington and 42-year-old Jennifer Kaye Carrington, both of Pineville.
The victim of the shooting, L. C. Carrington, was transported to Shreveport by ambulance for emergency surgery. Upon their arrival at LSU Medical Center, Carrington fled the area on foot. Carrington was not in Sheriff’s Office custody as he was still being considered a victim of the shooting. At this point, detectives believe the shooting was accidental but have not been able to confirm that theory. Rockey Carrington is being held on a $15,250.00 bond and Jennifer Carrington is being held on a $15,000.00 bond. Detectives say the investigation is still ongoing and now more charges are pending on all three suspects.
