Sheriff Franklin’s Niece Dies in Car Crash

A Vidalia woman was killed Wednesday night in Concordia parish.  State troopers say 26-year-old Lauren Franklin lost control of her car on Highway 131.  They say she traveled through a field and overturned into a bayou.

She was wearing her seat belt.

Franklin is the daughter of retired State Trooper Glen Franklin and the niece of LaSalle Parish Sheriff, Scott Franklin.
