Our next major weather maker will arrive this evening as a warm front pushes north across Louisiana. Widespread heavy rain and thunderstorm activity will develop later this afternoon and continue into the overnight hours. The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of Central Lousiana under an enhanced (level 3/5) risk for severe storms. Damaging winds will be the primary threat, but large hail and a few tornadoes will be possible as well. The best timeframe for severe weather will be between 2 PM today and 2 AM Saturday.
