Schools compete for Clarkson concert, share of $3.25 million
Wal-Mart,
– It’s a sobering statistic: Teenage drivers are three to four times more likely to be in a fatal crash than are adult drivers.
Wal-Mart, AT & T, Verizon & State Farm are joining forces to help reduce this stat, and to inject a little fun with large rewards along the way.
“Celebrate My Drive” is a State Farm campaign for students and communities to come together to make safe driving commitments online, during National Teen Driver Safety Week Oct. 18-26. The insurer will award a total of .25 million to 100 high schools with the most commitments. In addition, two schools will receive a free concert by grammy award-winning star, Kelly Clarkson.
The community is invited to the following Celebrate My Drive event:
When: 12 (noon) – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19
Where: Inside the Wal-Mart Super Store Hwy 28 West, Alexandria
Schools can register and sign up to receive more information at: www.celebratemydrive.com . Registration is open through October 17. Online commitments are made Oct 18 – 26.
Teens can join the conversation online at: www.facebook.com/CelebrateMyDrive
