Road Work: LA 474 Sabine Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that, weather permitting, construction work will begin on LA 474 from the intersection of Yellow Pines Rd to the intersection of Dess Rd on Monday, June 15, 2015 and will continue for approximately (2) two months. This 1.520 mile long project will receive subgrade layer treatment, in-place cement stabilization, pavement patching, drainage structures, superpave asphaltic pavement, and related work.

The project was awarded to the low bidder, W.E. McDonald & Son, LLC in the amount of $1,361,595.80.

Permit/Detour section
The contractor intends to begin work on June 15, 2015. The roadway will be closed to thru traffic while the contractor builds the subgrade layer stage of the project. All traffic approaching LA 474 from US 171 will be detoured via US 171 North to LA 6 West to LA 476 to LA 191 South and back to LA 474. All traffic approaching LA 474 from LA 191 will be detoured via LA 191 North to LA 476 to LA 6 East to US 171 South and back to LA 476.

After completion of the subgrade layer stage of the project, the roadway will be open to all traffic; however, work will continue and traffic may be reduced to one lane for construction work. A subsequent press release will notify the public when the road will re-open to thru traffic.
