class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-1570″ src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Floods.jpg” alt=”Floods” width=”320″ height=”240″ />The Mississippi River’s rising, causing some people in Vicksburg to take action ahead of the flooding.

The superintendent of the Vicksburg Bridge Commission, Herman Smith, manages three shops in Delta, Louisiana, which is across the bridge from Vicksburg. He says he’s preparing for the Mississippi River to overflow by getting preventative and precautionary measures in place. Right now, water levels are just over 42 feet. Anything over 44 will cover the floor in Smith’s shop. When water’s rose in 2011, everything in the shops were under water.

Smith says his crew will not return to the shops until all the water has receded.
