Renovated Alexandria Park Opens Today

The improvements to Frank O. Hunter Park in the Willow Glen area of Alexandria are officially opened today.

This is one of the city’s oldest parks and it has undergone a two-million-dollar facelift. Some improvements include a regulation football field with lighting, a practice field with a sprinkler system, bleachers to accommodate 700 fans, and a press box.

This is part of the SPARC projects for the city: around 96-million dollars in spending to improve infrastructure in what are called Special Planned Activity Redevelopment Corridors.
