RSCCMay 1, Older American’s Month Celebration, 10 am – 2 pm, Indian Creek Recreation Area.  Seniors from the 16 RSCC Senior Centers will be celebrating:  Older Americans Month using the theme Safe Today.  Healthy Tomorrow.  Seniors will be fishing, dancing, and playing games as they gear up for the 2014 Central District Senior Olympic Games.  Call 318-487-1561 for more information.

May 2, Central District Senior Olympic Games Registration Deadline.  Last day for those 50 years of age and over to register for the CDSOG.  Call 318-487-1561 for registration information.

May 10, Central District Senior Olympic Games Track & Field Events, 7:15 am – 1 pm, Tioga Jr High.  Seniors from across Cenla and the state will be competing in the following events:  Track Events (100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m & 1500 m), Javelin, Shot Put, Hammer Throw, and Discus.  Call 318-487-1561 for more information.

May 13, Central District Senior Olympic Games Shuffleboard Event, 8:30 am, Ball Senior Center.  Seniors from throughout Cenla will be competing for the Gold, Silver and Bronze in Shuffleboard.  Call 318-487-1561 for more information.

May 14, Central District Senior Olympic Games Shooting Event, 8:30 am, RPSO Shooting Range.  Seniors from across the state will converge in Central Louisiana to test their marksmanship.  Call 318-487-1561 for more information.

May 15, Central District Senior Olympic Games Golf Event, 7:30 am, OakWing Golf Course.  Seniors from a 9 parish area will be competing for bragging rights and medals in this round of golf at OakWing Golf Course.   Call 318-487-1561 for more information.

May 17, Central District Senior Olympic Games Cycling Event, 7:30 am, LSUA Campus.  Cyclists will compete against each other and the time clock in this 5K Race.  Call 318-487-1561 for more information.

May 19, Central District Senior Olympic Games Bowling Event, 8:30 am, Tiger Lanes.  Bowling for medals, seniors from across Cenla will be rolling for strikes in this competitive event.  Call 318-487-1561 for more information.

May 20, Central District Senior Olympic Games Pickle Ball Event, 8:30 am, Louisiana Athletic Club-Pineville.  This sport is one of the fastest growing sports for people over 50.  CDSOG athletes will show you how it’s done.  Call 318-487-1561 for more information.

May 21, Central District Senior Olympic Games Billiards Event, 1:00 pm, Pineville Senior Center.  Chalk up your cue and call your shots all the way to a Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal.  Call 318-487-1561 for more information.

May 22, Volunteer Appreciation Day, 11:30 am at Woodworth Senior Center.  The seniors at the Woodworth Senior Centers will be paying special thanks to their volunteers who make their senior center so special.  For more information call 318-787-0955.

May 23, Central District Senior Olympic Games Multi-Event Day, 8:30 am, Tioga Jr High.  Events include:  Race Walk, Horseshoes, Walk a Thon, Spelling Bee, Checkers, Chess, Washer Pitch, Distance & Accuracy Throws, Darts, Dominoes, Basketball Free Throws, & Bait Casting.  A fun day of events held this year at Tioga Jr. High School.   Call 318-487-1561 for more information.

May 28, Central District Senior Olympic Games Celebration of Athletes & National Health and Fitness Day, 7:30 am, Alexandria Convention Hall.  A day of celebrating the athletes of the 2014 CDSOG and National Senior Health & Fitness Day.  Music, food, prizes and awards make for a wonderful day with seniors from Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Sabine & Winn Parishes.  Elvis will be this year’s featured entertainment!  Call 318-487-1561 for more information.
