Rapides Parish Receives Grant, Public Meeting Scheduled

Are you interested in helping Rapides Parish become more resilient?

Rapides Parish has received a grant from the Office of Community Development through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Disaster Recovery program to develop a parish-wide Comprehensive Resiliency Plan. This is a long-range development plan that will provide strategies for smart growth and looks at community resiliency to potential disasters. This plan will focus on issues such as transportation, drainage, housing, economic development, and safety.

In order to successfully complete this effort, public meetings will be held to allow the residents of Rapides Parish to comment and provide feedback on this plan as it is being developed. The first series of public meetings will be held on the following dates and locations:

April 26, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. – Rapides High School – 9463 Highway 71 South, Lecompte, LA 71346

April 27, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. – Glenmora High School – 1414 7th Avenue, Glenmora, LA 71433

April 28, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. – HIS Church – 1381 Pinehurst Drive, Pineville, LA 71360

April 29, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. – St. Matthew Baptist Church – 5605 Old Boyce Rd. Boyce, LA 71409

Residents of Rapides Parish are strongly encouraged to attend one of the meetings to have an opportunity to comment and shape the future of Rapides Parish.
