Primary Election Results

Two Republicans emerge for a run-off on November 16th for the 5th Congressional District seat.

Running second is 39-year-old Vance McAllister of Swartz, near Monroe.  He bankrolled his campaign and had support from Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the Duck Dynasty reality show.

In first is 51-year-old State Senator Neil Riser of Columbia.  Retiring Congressman, Rodney Alexander, endorsed him, as well as national Republicans who threw a fundraiser for him.

In the other closely watched race in central Louisiana, Pineville voters overwhelmingly approved restaurant-only alcohol sales.
