Police Investigate Jackson St. Shooting Death
A usually safe but busy area of Jackson Street is the scene of a shooting death. It happened at the Sacred Art Tattoo Shop near the corner of Texas and Jackson yesterday afternoon.
Alexandria police say the victim is 42-year-old John Williams of Alexandria, who apparently was involved in a fight with the suspect, 43-year-old Daymein Boyd, also of Alexandria.
He was arrested at the scene without incident. Boyd is charged with murder, possession of synthetic marijuana and of paraphernalia.
Police say the investigation into the death continues. Investigators say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene and was unresponsive when the police arrived.
