Pineville Man Arrested for Storage Unit Burglary

On November 15th, 2016 at approximately 10 am, Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call in reference to possible burglary suspect sleeping behind a storage building in the 6300 block of Masonic Drive in Alexandria.  According to the caller, he had located some storage units that had just been burglarized.  Deputies responded and upon arrival, contact was made with the storage manager who stated during his check of the facility, he located 5 storage door locks that had been cut off.  The manager also reported finding a large bolt cutter and a straight blade knife behind one of the buildings.  As he was checking the property further, he found a white male asleep on the ground, surrounded by several bags full of items and a bicycle beside him.  Deputies located the suspect with the items around him, still asleep.  Deputies contacted the suspect, later identified as Eric Sean Davis, and woke him up and detained him until further information could be obtained.  Sheriff’s Detectives and Crime Scene Unit also responded to assist in the investigation.  Due to the items Davis had in his possession, he was placed under arrest for Simple Burglary, Criminal Damage and Possession of Burglary Tools.  Davis was transported and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he remains at this time.  Detectives are working with the storage manager to contact the owners of the property from each storage unit that was burglarized.  Detectives say their investigation is still ongoing and more arrest are possible.
