The announcement was official this morning by the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.

Ellis has been in Alexandria since February of last year, but he will now be an interim vice president of academic and student affairs in the main office.

Though Ellis had plans to spearhead the groundbreaking of a new multi-million dollar facility in downtown Alexandria, that job will now fall to acting chancellor Jimmy Sawtelle, formerly of Ville Platte, who served as interim 10 years ago. Sawtelle will be on campus in Alexandria tomorrow.

We have also learned Heather Poole will move from LSUA to a position at the new VO-Tech school.
