O.K. Allen Bridge Now a Part of History
class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-45992″ src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/RedRiverShot.jpg” alt=”RedRiverShot” width=”500″ height=”281″ />The O.K. Allen Bridge is now history. Experts blew it up on Saturday to make way for the new, extra span of the Curtis-Coleman Bridge.
And traffic on the Red River is now open again. Workers are still pulling debris from the Red, but the main channel is clear down to about 20 feet. Divers will continue to work to pull submerged pieces from the water.
The historic O.K. Allen Bridge dated back to1936.
Work is continuing on the second span, which is to open next year.
