NSU will offer Art Fundamentals camp

class=”alignleft wp-image-20066″ src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Northwestern_State_University_of_Louisiana.png” alt=”Northwestern_State_University_of_Louisiana” width=”162″ height=”162″ />NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s School of Creating and Performing Arts/Department of Fine + Graphic Art will host an Art Fundamentals Summer Camp for youngsters age 5-11.  Three sessions with three different themes will be offered.  All sessions run from 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and will take place in Room 205 of the Fine Arts Annex. Campers can be dropped off as early as 12:30 p.m. and picked up as late as 5:30 p.m.

“Kids in Space” will be June 2-6.  Campers will explore space through art, creating aliens, starscapes, planetary systems and ways to travel in space.  “That 70s Week” will take place June 9-13.  Campers will explore macramé, collage and decoupage, ceramics, tie-dye, handmade necklaces made from handcrafted beads.  “Play with Your Food” will take place June 16-20.  Campers will create paintings of food, make sculptures of food, photograph food and make prints from food, while making and eating food.
