NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Department of Military Science will commemorate Veteran’s Day with a “Salute to Servicemen” on Saturday, Nov. 9 and a downtown car and bike show Sunday, Nov. 10.
The “Salute to Service” will take place during Northwestern State’s Nov. 9 football game against Lamar University in Turpin Stadium. The commemoration will recognize military, law enforcement and other service-related organizations. The NSU ROTC staff are working with Athletic Department personnel to coordinate the attendance of 25 soldiers from Fort Polk for the game.
The Department of Military Science will host a Veteran’s Day car and bike show on the riverbank in downtown Natchitoches Sunday, Nov. 10. Proceeds from the event will support the Natchitoches Parish Veterans and Memorial Park. Registration is $15 in advance and $25 the day of the event. Check-in is from 8am to noon.
Show classes will be domestic cars, domestic trucks, sport utility vehicles, imports, import/mini trucks, People’s Choice Car/Truck, muscle cars, 4 x 4/off-road, choppers/cruisers, sport bikes, dresser and People’s Choice Bike.
