NSU Football Coach: Season Opener Will Be Key

NSU Head Football Coach Jay Thomas, along with family and friends, made a trip to Alexandria last night at Spirits Food and Friends for their annual victory tour stop. The Demons 2015 season ended with some momentum as they won four of their last six games.

Expectations are high for the upcoming year as College Sports Madness tabbed the Demons as the number 35 team and the fourth Southland Conference team in its FCS Top 44.

Coach Thomas says the season opener will be a major key to starting the season off right.

With last year’s starting quarterback Stephen Rivers leaving, 3 players are pushing to earn the starting gig: Brooks Hack, a graduate transfer from Lafayette who started 8 games his junior season and juniors J.D. Almond and Joel Blumenthal who both have starting experience.
