NSU announces plans for commencement parking

Three bus routes have been established with designated bus stops.
The stop for the Yellow Bus route will be next to the Health and Human Performance building for parking lots surrounding HHP, University Place I and the UP Clubhouse on Tarleton Drive.
The stop for the Red Bus route will be in front of Caddo Hall near Sam Sibley Drive to service parking lots near Caddo, the large central commuter parking lot and parking lots near Iberville Green, Iberville Dining Hall, University Place II, Kyser Hall, Bienvenu Hall, the commuter lot between Bienvenu and Williamson Hall, Watson Library and lots behind the Student Union and the Family and Consumer Sciences Building.
The stop for the Pink Bus route will be near the University Print Shop for lots around the Print Shop, the Creative and Performing Arts complex, Russell Hall and the former site of Married Student Housing on South Jefferson. Parking in the field across from the President’s Residence will be allowed, weather permitting.
Parking within walking distance of Prather Coliseum will be available around St. Denis Hall, South Hall, Roy Hall, Prudhomme Hall, the track complex and, weather permitting, in the fields near Organizational Drive.
Reserved spaces for students and their guests who need accessible parking will be available in the two small lots closest to Prather Coliseum on the east and west sides of the building. All buses will unload in front of the main entrance of Prather Coliseum.
Parking will not be permitted on the shoulders of South Jefferson, Tarlton Drive or the construction area. Drivers are urged to use caution and be courteous to pedestrians.
Graduates and guests should plan to arrive about two hours before each ceremony. Although Northwestern State encourages graduates and guests to arrive on campus early, buses will not be available until 8 a.m. to transport graduates and guests to and from Prather Coliseum.
Undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Education and Human Development and the Louisiana Scholars’ College will receive diplomas at 10 a.m. Undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Nursing and Allied Health and undergraduate students from the College of Science, Technology and Business will graduate at 3 p.m. Graduates and guests should plan to arrive early for both ceremonies.
