Kent House is currently accepting applications for Camp Kent House which will be held on July 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. The theme this year is "Life on a 19th Century Farm". The schedule for each Friday is as follows:

July 9, 2010: Garden/Bug Day - Learn about good-bugs and bad-bugs and how honey bees helped with crops as well as provide honey for farm families. Learn about what they grew and how the farmers used their crops. Campers will actually plant seeds in the Kent House Kitchen garden as well as in a pot for a take-home project.

July 16, 2010: Game Day - Make marbles and participate in a marble shooting contest. Participate in a scavenger hunt and make paper boats, hats and potato stamps. Learn how the children entertained and were entertained during the Kent House era.

July 23, 2010: Demo Day. See corn being ground and learn how to make butter, candles and soap. Participate in a bird-cup craft and learn how to make corn husk and yarn dolls.

July 30, 2010: Farm Day - Visit a real farm in the morning and make old-fashioned churned ice cream after returning to Kent House.

Camp hours are from 9:00 - 5:00 and attendees can attend one Friday or all four. All snacks and craft supplies are provided. Each day campers should bring a sack lunch. The cost is $20.00 per day per camper and enrollment is limited. For additional information or a registration form, please call the Kent House office at 318-487-5998.
