New Bio-Fuel Plants to be Constructed in Central LA

BioFuelGovernor Bobby Jindal made an announcement while visiting Alexandria today regarding good economic news for Central Louisiana.  It’s part of his 64-parish tour.

Two bio-fuel plants will be built in Central Louisiana: one at the Alexandria Port and the other at the Natchitoches Port.  Jindal says the Cool Planet Energy System is making a capital investment of around 168-million dollars in Louisiana.

A third plant will be announced later.  He says this means 72 new direct jobs – averaging around 60-thousand a year.

The biomass-to-gasoline refineries are slated to create 422 new indirect jobs and about 750 construction jobs.  Jindal says the first site is in Alexandria.

Construction starts in January.  Cool planet is headquartered near Denver.
