National Pan-Hellenic Council of Alexandria Student Showcase

The National Pan-Hellenic Council of Alexandria is a local organization which is currently composed of eight International and Greek sororities and fraternities.  The NPHC promotes interaction through forums, meetings, and mediums for the exchange of information and engages in the cooperative programming and initiatives through a variety of activities and functions.  On the local level, we give scholarships to deserving high school graduates, sponsor political forums, and conduct the American College Test (ACT) Prep workshops and health resource fairs among other endeavors.

On Saturday, April 12, 2014 this organization will showcase the outstanding talents of our students in the arts at Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center at 5:30pm.

The objective is to focus on transforming lives and impacting communities as high school students showcase their talents in the arts.  The divisions of Music: vocal/instrumental; Dance: ballet/modern; Painting: oil/water, paint; Drama: speaking/acting; Photography: black/white and color.  The students’ work will be judged and awarded by outstanding artists like Morris Taft Thomas, Faith Ford, Harry Connick, Linda MaMahon, Ernest Hill, and other outstanding artists.

In additional to the competition, the following group will perform: String Orchestra Group under the direction of Mr. John DeChiaro; The D.R.E.A.M. Group under the direction of Atty. Ingrid Johnson and Mr. Calvin Johnson; The True Vine B.C. Outstanding Junior Choir under the direction of three music leaders; A Dance Group out of Leesville, Louisiana.
