Natchitoches’ Miss Merry Christmas Chosen
NATCHITOCHES – The 58th Miss Merry Christmas was crowned and the 2014 Natchitoches Christmas Belles were announced Sunday, September 14, 2014. Fourteen young ladies from three Natchitoches parish high schools competed for the title of Miss Merry Christmas and the honor of being selected a Christmas Belle.
Madison Claire Ackel was crowned Miss Merry Christmas 2014. Madison is a senior at St. Mary’s School. She is the daughter of John and Donna Ackel.
Five girls were selected as Christmas Belles. They are Asia Allen, a senior at the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts; Kara Davis, Emily Heard and Sarah Kay Whitehead, seniors at St. Mary’s School; and Peyton Ebarb, a senior at Natchitoches Central High School.
Kara Davis was the recipient of the Barbara Kirsch Memorial Award. The Barbara Kirsch Award was established as a way to remember the positive influence Barbara had on others.
