Millwright Training Course Being Offered in Jena
A millwright-training course will be offered next week at the Brady Campus of the VoTech school in Jena.
This is a short-term apprentice-training program to fill some 40 to 50 entry-level positions at Universal Plant Services in Jena. The classroom will look like the one you see here in Alexandria.
Starting wages range from 13 to 15 dollars per hour plus benefits.
UPS announced plans to invest almost 4 million dollars in Jena in December 2012, and construction began a year ago. The training includes mechanical components, millwright fundamentals, systems maintenance and OSHA and first-aid certification.
