Someone has definitely let the dogs out. These cars and more were lined up outside the Alexandria Riverfront Center today ready to unload their dogs for the 5th Annual Mardi Gras Cluster Dog Show, co-hosted by the Alexandria and Baton Rouge Kennel Clubs. The show starts Thursday and ends on Sunday.
Dogs from all over the country will be competing for the coveted Best in Show trophy that will be given each day. This year two new breeds will be welcomed to the show, the Coton de Tulear and the wirehaired Vizsla. Admission into the event is free but only dogs in the show are allowed inside.
Over 4,000 dogs have been entered this year and it looks to be a dog gone good time.
The show begins on Thursday, January 22nd and runs through Sunday, January 25th at the Alexandria Riverfront Center, 707 Second Street in downtown Alexandria. Judging will begin each morning at 8:00 AM and run until approximately 5:00 PM.
