LSUA’s University High Holds Open House

A new high school for Rapides Parish students will be opening at LSU of Alexandria in August.  The university will allow students to earn their high school diploma and up to 60 college credits through a dual enrollment plan.

The school will also be used by LSUA education majors as a site for internships and practical classroom experience.

There is an open house being held today for parents with questions about the school.

The school will absorb students from a private parochial that is having financial problems.  Those will be the first students to sign up for the new school.

However, Poole says the staff for the school will be newly hired, including the principal.
