This new policy goes into effect on Monday, July 6.
Employees are still required to work a forty-hour week with the hours missed on Friday afternoon being made up with an extra hour each day Monday through Thursday.
The two-and-a-half day weekend gives employees flexibility with their schedule and allows for travel opportunities on the weekend without having to take a full day off.
“Summer is the time for travel and spending time with friends and family. This policy offers employees the ability to spend more time with loved ones over the weekend while still being paid for a 40-hour week,” says Director of University Relations Sarah Black.
Normal office operating hours of 8:00am-4:30pm will resume in August.
