LSUA Athletes Honored

LSUA-NewSenior Outfield Adam Michel of LSUA has been honored by the Red River Athletic Conference as a Co-Player of the Week for February 16-22.

Michel went 6-for-9 at the plate while appearing in three games over the timespan. He went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in an 8-4 victory over Belhaven University (Miss.) to open the week. The centerfielder tacked on two more doubles in the middle game of a three-game series with Texas Wesleyan University.

In the final game of the series, Michel contributed two more hits and three more RBIs. For the week, Michel hit four doubles, scored four runs and collected five RBIs. He is the conference leader in doubles with eight and is batting.390 on the season.

LSUA’s Rynn Touchet was also named a Co-Pitcher of the Week for the same dates. Touchet posted a four-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over TWU. He struck out five batters and walked none in seven innings. Touchet leads the RRAC in wins with a 3-0 mark on the season and has an ERA of 2.38.
