The Local Foods Initiative is conducting the celebration.
It wants to remind customers and vendors this market is open year round on Tuesday afternoons across from the First United Methodist Church of Alexandria. This Garden District market sells seasonal produce and homemade products.
The City declares a proclamation to let them know the foodies in and around Alexandria appreciate them and their gardens.
The farmers market offers fruit, veggies, soup, various kinds of tamales and bread.
