Local Children Grow Their Own Organic Garden

Children show off their organic garden to friends and family today. They have their very own garden club, a program attached to the Good Food Project. They meet weekly to learn to grow their very own vegetables.

The garden is part of the Pineville Youth Center on Highway 28 East.

Volunteers say it’s teaching these youngsters the path to good nutrition.

The children are encouraged to share what they’ve learned with their family members.

Volunteers say learning to eat good food becomes a life-long habit.

The children were surprised at their own abilities to grow their own food, enjoy it and have it for their weekly snacks when their garden club meets.
