Let’s Grow Vernon announces town hall meetings Aug 14 & 15
LEESVILLE-
Vernon Parish residents are encouraged to attend one of two town hall meetings in the month of August. The first is set for 11:30 a.m. Aug. 14 at the Vernon Parish Library meeting room. Participants are welcome to bring their own lunch to this meeting.
The second town hall meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Leesville Municipal Golf Course meeting room (also known as the Country Club). Both meetings will be identical in their content. Residents should plan to attend the one that best fits their schedule.
“Now that we’ve successfully completed the surveys, the town hall meetings will provide a vehicle for citizens to voluntarily engage themselves in the LDRC process,” said Leesville Mayor Robert Rose. “The town hall meetings will help us to more specifically identify the community’s strengths and weaknesses and provide an opportunity for citizens to share their vision for where we need to be in the next five, 10 or 20 years.”
The town hall meetings follow the successful completion of community and business surveys. A total of 600 surveys were completed, which falls just short of 10 percent of the Leesville population.
Results of the surveys will be made available at the conclusion of the town hall meetings.
Let’s Grow Vernon is an initiative by the City of Leesville to help bring business and industry to the Vernon Parish area by becoming a Louisiana Development Ready Community.
