Leesville’s Annual Cleanup Week and Fall Trash Bash

CityofLeesvilleLEESVILLE, seek LA- The Mayor’s Women’s Commission (MWC), ambulance in conjunction with The Keep Leesville Beautiful Committee, buy will host Leesville’s semi-annual Cleanup Week beginning Monday, October 14th through Saturday, October 19th.  Residents are encouraged to clean their properties and the city will offer a lending hand.  Leesville Public Works crews will pick up items throughout the week. Residents interested in this service should call the Public Works Department at 337-239-2995. The pick- up schedule will be as follows:

Monday, October 14: Tree Limbs
Tuesday, October 15: Boards, tires, etc.
Wednesday & Thursday, October 16th & 17th: Furniture, Appliances, etc.
Friday, October 18th: Paint Products, household chemicals, etc.
Saturday, October 19th: Trash Bash – Liberty Garden Park at 8:30 a.m.

Progressive Waste Management will have roll-a ways for residents to take discarded items to American Moving and Storage.  They will be on site on Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Cleanup Week will conclude with the Fall Trash Bash on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Liberty Garden Park, across from the Vernon Parish Library. Groups from all local civic organizations, churches, schools and clubs are urged to participate in this event with a little friendly competition. Each group will pick up trash in a specific area of the City and weigh gathered trash at American Moving and Storage, Inc.  At 11:00 a.m., volunteers will return to Liberty Garden Park for a cookout and an awards ceremony hosted by the MWC.

Olivia McKee, President of the MWC, is looking forward to a successful Trash Bash. “The Women’s Commission is proud to host this event. We know that it’s a sacrifice for people to volunteer their time on a Saturday, but every lending hand is a helping hand to a great cause for our city,” said McKee.
