Cleanup Week will conclude with the Fall Trash Bash on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Liberty Garden Park, across from the Vernon Parish Library. Groups from all local civic organizations, churches, schools and clubs are urged to participate in this event with a little friendly competition. Each group will pick up trash in a specific area of the City and weigh gathered trash at American Moving and Storage, Inc.  At 11:00 a.m., volunteers will return to Liberty Garden Park for a cookout and an awards ceremony hosted by the MWC.

Olivia McKee, President of the MWC, is looking forward to a successful Trash Bash. “The Women’s Commission is proud to host this event. We know that it’s a sacrifice for people to volunteer their time on a Saturday, but every lending hand is a helping hand to a great cause for our city,” said McKee.
