Leesville Man Charged with Aggravated Rape
VPSO Press Release – Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office announces the January 7th, 2015 arrest of Robert Nick Cromwell, age 27, of Leesville.
On January 4th, 2015 the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report in which it was alleged that Cromwell had inappropriate sexual contact with a 4 year old child.
Detectives in conjunction with the Rapides Child Advocacy Center conducted a forensic interview with the child and the child did disclose details of sexual abuse.
Contact was made with Cromwell after the child underwent a forensic medical exam.
During the course of an interview with Cromwell he did admit to having inappropriate sexual contact with the child.
Robert Cromwell was arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Rape due to the type of sexual contact and the age of the child.
Bond was set at $200,000.00 by Judge Anthony Eaves. Cromwell remains in the Vernon Parish Jail at the time of this release.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
