Leesville Fire Department to Conduct Yearly Fire Hydrant Testing

LEESVILLE–The Leesville Fire Department will be testing fire hydrants throughout the City of Leesville starting October 13, 2014 and ending November 28, 2014. Fire hydrant testing is required yearly to ensure that all hydrants are in working order and to accurately estimate the capabilities of the cities water mains.

Throughout the testing process, sediment will be flushed from the water lines. This sediment may cause discoloration to the water in the area being tested. The water is safe to drink but may discolor fabrics if they are washed in the water. The discoloration is temporary and will clear as you run water through your home’s water system. Testing will be between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.

Please contact the Leesville Fire Department at 337-239-7950 if you have any questions.
