NOTE: At least one end of LA 470 will remain open at all times

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that LA 470 in Chambers, Rapides Parish, will be closed at the Union Pacific Railroad track. The work is being done on LA 470 approximately 0.01 miles west of the intersection of LA 470 and US 71 in Chambers (Across from LSUA). There will be intermittent daytime closures on LA 470 starting on Saturday, January 24, 2015 and ending on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Union Pacific Railroad will be replacing rail through the crossing.

Permit/Detour section
The roadway will be closed completely to all traffic during this time. The detour will be LA 470 to US 71 to LA 470. The detour can accept oversized loads. The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.
