LA State Fair Rides Undergo Rigorous Safety Inspections Before Opening

state-fairThe gates at the State Fair of Louisiana in Shreveport officially open tomorrow.  And the final nuts and bolts are being tightened on rides at the fair grounds.  But before the first ticket is taken, those rides have to pass a safety inspection.  Erin Buchanan reports from the fair grounds.

Fair officials say ride operators and carnival employees must undergo pre-employment drug screening as required by Crabtree amusements.

The fair will run from October 24th through November 10th, but it will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.  This year’s theme is “The Fair is in the Air.”
