Jury selection is underway for the man accused of killing a 12-year-old girl four years ago. Thomas Sanders is being tried for the capital murder of Lexis Roberts.
Jury selection in federal court is very different from state court. It’s a tighter, more controlled process, with the judge limiting the time and questions posed to potential jurors.
Prosecutors say Sanders, once thought to be dead, took the girl and her mother from Nevada to Catahoula Parish. The mother’s body was found in Arizona.
