Jindal Signs “Jump Start” Bill
Governor Bobby Jindal is giving Louisiana students a jump-start.
The Governor was in Winnfield today to sign a bill in front of its author, State Representative Jim Fannin.
“Jump Start” is a public-private partnership among school systems, charter schools, colleges, industries and workforce developments. It offers training for high school students in careers they’re interested in pursuing and allows them the chance to earn college credits or work toward industry certificates.
Fannin’s bill incorporates a career diploma program into the same accountability system as any other graduate. Fannin says these students deserve the same financial and educational support as students headed to colleges and universities.
