Human Relations Council Honors Community Members
This morning the Human Relations Commission awarded people and organizations for enriching lives in the community. Winners are chosen in four categories: community service, education, music, and arts contributions.
This was the first year the group presented a lifetime achievement award.
The Alexandria Human Relations Commission has been working on plans to construct a memorial park to honor Doctor Martin Luther king Junior, including local leaders who made a difference in the causes of civil rights, equality, and justice.
