Home of Pineville Mayor Catches Fire

The home of Pineville Mayor Clarence Fields and his wife Rosa caught fire this morning.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the damage to the structure is significant, and the roof was destroyed.  The house is located on North Bend Drive in the Pinehurst area of Pineville.

Firefighters responded and found the home totally engulfed.  The investigation is underway.

The mayor was on the scene but was noticeably upset.  Like many families, the Fields had already decorated their home for the holidays.

Pineville firefighters were still there this morning to make sure no embers were spread to neighboring homes.
