Hit-and-Run Case Now Being Treated as Homicide

A Cheneyville man originally thought to be a hit-and-run victim on Labor Day has died and Rapides deputies are treating it as a homicide caused by blunt-force trauma to his head.

49-year-old James Roger Guinn was found Monday night on Highway 181 at the interstate. Detectives say he was taken to a hospital, where he died yesterday.

The investigation has been upgraded to a homicide, because there were no other injuries to his body. An autopsy has been ordered.
