High School Students Learn About Forest Service Careers

Wanna-be forest rangers are in the Kisatchie today. 30 high school seniors are learning about jobs with the U.S. Forestry Service. The program is co-sponsored by Southern University.

Various rangers described their training and their work in the forest. They also showed these students what kind of work life they would have as a forest ranger.

The Kisatchie is the only national forest in Louisiana.

Almost all colleges and universities in Louisiana offer course work, which leads to forest service jobs.
