Ground is broken in Downtown Alexandria for new construction to house the Central Louisiana Technical and Community College (CLTCC).
The new campus will take about two years to be completed, but officials say this is the start they’ve long wanted. The state has almost acquired all the property it needs to establish the new main campus downtown.
It’s a 2-year college offering associate degrees, technical diplomas and industry certificates.
The college serves nine parishes and has seven locations, with Jimmy Sawtell named as chancellor of the school.
Construction of the multi-million-dollar campus will begin immediately.
