Alexandria, Louisiana—The official Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch Library will be Tuesday, October 29 at 10 a.m. Several local officials will participate in the ceremony which is open to the public.
The ceremony is planned on the site of the new location, the 1100 block of Broadway Avenue between Peabody Magnet High School and the Broadway Fire Station.
Low bidders Tudor, Inc. will begin construction in a few weeks after proper permits are obtained. The building is scheduled to complete Summer 2014.
