Gov Edwards Outlines Medicaid Expansion Plan
On July 1st, more than 300,000 Louisiana residents become eligible for health care through the Medicaid expansion.
Governor John Bel Edwards outlined plans during the 2016 Health Summit held in Baton Rouge. Over 200 people from all over the state attended the summit in Baton Rouge.
Governor Edwards explains that with a $750 million shortfall, it will be incredibly difficult to shore up these safety net hospitals, however, they will do everything they can to keep them running.
