Glass artist Anderson of Quitman will present senior show at NSU

Alicia-Anderson-calm-SwimNATCHITOCHES – “Undersea Wonders,” a senior art exhibition by Alicia Trevillion Anderson of Quitman will be on display at Northwestern State University’s Orville Hanchey Gallery March 24-28.  The exhibit will include stained glass, fused glass and flame worked glass pieces, as well as a quilt and four prints.

A non-traditional student, Anderson will earn her degree in fine and graphic art in May.  During her studies, she twice attended seminars at the Penland School of Crafts, a national center for craft education, and participated in summer studies in New Mexico.  Following graduation, she plans to enroll in a graduate program and obtain a master’s degree.

An artist’s reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 24. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-noon Fridays.  For more information on Anderson and her work, e-mail her at afta1963@gmail.com.
