Funeral services for George Rodrigue will be Thursday morning at Saint Louis Cathedral in the New Orleans French Quarter.
The 69-year-old painter died Saturday after a long battle with cancer.
His blue dog paintings are beloved throughout the state and his works have turned up in the homes and offices of Governors and US Senators.
Rodrigue was one of the first artists to picture the life, work and play of the Cajuns.
